This is a listing of tv methods broadcast by means of Nickelodeon within the United States. The channel was first tested on December 1, 1977, as an experimental native channel in Columbus, Ohio. On April 1, 1979, the channel expanded into a national community named Nickelodeon.
The first program broadcast on Nickelodeon was once Pinwheel, a preschool sequence created by Dr. Vivian Horner, who additionally conceived the idea for the channel itself.[1] At its launch, Nickelodeon used to be commercial-free and mainly featured educational shows. By 1984, the channel began accepting conventional ads and introduced more entertainment-focused programming.[2] In January 1988, the community introduced a weekday morning block for preschoolers known as Nick Jr., which carried Pinwheel and other tutorial collection. Around the similar time, Nickelodeon began to invest in its personal unique animated shows, which eventually premiered in 1991 below the "Nicktoons" branding. Since then, the channel has consistently aired a mix of authentic live-action and animated titles.
